Are Modu-Loc fences available in other colours?

Our standard rental fence is widely available in two styles: powder-coated green or galvanized steel. Our local Modu-Loc depots may have other colours available, such as black, yellow or orange. Ask your nearest Modu-Loc depot for product availability.

If you’re looking for a specific colour of fencing, you may be interested in placing a custom order. Custom orders are subject to minimum order quantities and longer lead times, and must be purchased by the customer (i.e. they cannot be rented).

Can Modu-Loc fences stand on their own?

Yes. Unless otherwise requested, all rental orders include the fence panels, caps (or “top connectors”) and bases (or “feet”). Our fence bases are longer and heavier than those of our competitors, ensuring the overall stability of the fence system.

It’s important to know that any unsupported, temporary structure is susceptible to high winds and other factors that may impact its stability – and temporary fence is no different. To ensure a stable fence line, our best practice is to add v-bracing or triangle bracing every 50’. In some situations, we may recommend additional stability solutions to mitigate the risk of the fence tipping or blowing over.

Can you install gates?

Yes! Whether you need pedestrian gates or vehicle access, Modu-Loc offers several temporary gate solutions to suit a wide variety of applications. Using our temporary fence panels in conjunction with gate components, we can build sliding gates or swing gates up to 30’ wide. We can also install a semi-permanent, independent gate system using concrete barriers for high-security sites.

Are the bases and caps included in my rental?

Yes, fence bases (or “feet”) and caps (or “top connectors”) are included in our rental rates for all temporary fence options. Please note that other components, such as security clamps and spike rails, are not included in the base rental rate and will be quoted separately.

Are there any privacy options or visibility blocking solutions for your fencing?

Modu-Loc offers privacy screening to contain dust and debris and block visibility of the site. Privacy screen is available for rent or purchase. Modu-Loc also offers custom-branded screening for clients interested in branding their site, promoting a new development or offering sponsorship opportunities.

Please be aware that hanging banners, screening or signage on temporary fencing can negatively impact the stability of the fence. We strongly recommend reinforcing the fence with stability accessories if adding privacy screening.

How secure is your fence? Do the panels lock together?

On a standard installation, our fence panels are connected at two points: at the top with caps, and at the bottom using bases.

While our fence panels are designed to be a breach deterrent, temporary fencing alone is typically not enough to stop a motivated intruder. The security of our fence can be enhanced using any of our security accessories. Some examples include using 8′ high fencing, security clamps or security rails. There are several other options, depending on your unique situation, which can be discussed with your regional sales representative.

Can you anchor the fence down?

Modu-Loc offers several anchoring solutions for clients that require a semi-permanent fence system or are dealing with challenging site conditions. Fences can be anchored to the ground using spikes, t-bars or wind braces. Please note that any anchoring system that involves ground penetration will require a utility locate to be performed.

If you require additional stability but prefer not to disturb the ground, our concrete block ballast system is an excellent solution.

How long is the rental or billing period?

For construction and retail:
Our standard rental contracts are billed on a recurring 28-day cycle. However, we can accommodate short-term rentals of less than one month. Contact us today for a quote.

For events:
Although our event customers typically require short-term rentals, we understand that every event is unique. Whether your event takes place over one weekend, multiple weekends or several weeks, Modu-Loc can work with you to develop a plan that best suits your needs. Contact us today for a quote.

Do you deliver and install the fence?

Yes, we offer full-service delivery, installation and removal for our temporary fencing. Out-of-area charges may apply for sites that fall outside of our service area.

For those clients who prefer to handle installation themselves, we also offer drop service (delivery without installation). Alternatively, clients are welcome to pick up fencing from any of our local Modu-Loc depots.

Can I install the fence myself?

Yes! Some clients prefer to handle installation themselves, either to minimize the number of subcontractors on site or to reduce labour costs. If you wish to install the fence yourself, we can arrange drop service (delivery without installation) or a customer pick-up from any of our local Modu-Loc depots.

How far in advance should I place my rental order?

For construction and retail:
To ensure that we can accommodate your order and desired delivery date, it’s best to contact us 2 to 3 business days before your preferred installation date. Although we can sometimes accommodate same-day requests, it’s not guaranteed.

For events:
How much advance notice we require will depend on the size of the event and the scope of work required. Many of our event clients reach out to us 2-4 months prior to their event. Often, there can be significant planning to ensure the right temporary fence solution. Keep in mind, we also see more demand for event fencing during the summer season.
