Fall is one of our favourite times of year at Modu-Loc. We can all start to relax a little as the summer rush begins to taper off. The heat gives way to crisp autumn air and the leaves turn vibrant shades of red and yellow. And we get the opportunity to work on some truly fun and spooky Halloween events! Haunted houses, mazes, and other Halloween attractions are on the docket for the month of October.

Keep reading for a round-up of some of the best, newest, and most interesting Halloween events across Canada.

Vancouver

Halloween Costume Ball

Taking place at the TELUS World of Science during the last weekend of October, the 12th annual Halloween Costume Ball boasts Vancouver’s best DJs and performers, and over 1,100 costumed guests.

Tours for the Recently Deceased

Sure to be one of the most creative and unusual Halloween events this year, Tours for the Recently Deceased is an interactive, “choose your own adventure” experience. This guided tour features characters from the films of Tim Burton, and is intended to raise funds for The Beaumont. The event opens this weekend.

Fright Nights at Playland

This is an event Modu-Loc has supported for several years, and it is a favourite of ours. Taking place annually at the PNE, Fright Nights at Playland is “where screams come true”. Enjoy 8 haunted attractions, performers, and night rides at one of Vancouver’s most popular Halloween destinations.

Calgary

Grim Manor

Spanning over 10,000 square feet at Calgary’s Olympic Park, Grim Manor is sure to become a new Halloween tradition. This unique and bone-chilling event combines four haunted houses with live music and a daredevil act. Grim Manor runs for 9 select nights in October and into early November.

Toronto

Screemers

Featuring 7 scary attractions (all included with the purchase of a single ticket), Screemers is something of an institution in Toronto. It has been terrifying visitors for more than 25 years, and Modu-Loc supplies the fence that creates the spooky mazes Screemers is known for. This year’s edition features blood-curdling new “haunts” like the Carnival of Carnage.

Horror Hallways

Located in the city’s west end at 401 Mini Indy, Horror Hallways is an indoor haunted maze that promises to leave guests trembling in fear. Horror Hallways is open every weekend in October, and every day during Halloween week.

Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland

Visit Canada’s Wonderland during the month of October, and you’re likely to see some Modu-Loc fence. Unfortunately, the fence won’t keep away the “hundreds of monsters waiting to feed off your screams”! Featuring 9 terrifying mazes, “scare zones”, night rides, and other entertainment, this popular Toronto Halloween attraction is sure to give you nightmares.

Kitchener

Screampark

Just a short drive from Toronto, you’ll find Screampark – a scary Halloween experience featuring four haunted house attractions, three “execution rides”, and an escape room. Open during select dates in October, Screampark also offers a zombie paintball hunt on Fridays and Saturdays. This one is well worth the trip to Kitchener!

London

Storyspook Village

Every October, Storybook Gardens hosts Storyspook Village. This event is geared at families with young children, offering up Halloween fun that isn’t too spooky. Storyspook Village includes trick-or-treating, costumed characters, and nighttime amusement park rides. Don’t forget to try your hand at the maze, which was lovingly constructed by Modu-Loc crews. Fun for the whole family!

Montreal

Festival de la frayeur (Fright Fest) at La Ronde

Fright Fest takes place at La Ronde, Montreal’s Six Flags theme park. This immersive Halloween event includes haunted attractions, “scare zones”, performers and thrill rides. Terror awaits you around every corner! Fright Fest is open on select dates throughout the month of October.

Malefycia

Known to be one of Montreal’s scariest Halloween attractions, Malefycia is an adults-only, interactive walk-through haunted house. Promising to be “the most realistic depiction of true horror”, Malefycia is said to offer unparalleled thrills. It runs on select dates from September through November.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show Halloween Ball

Did you know that Montreal is home to the largest Rocky Horror Picture Show event in North America? A tradition for some, this annual event provides fans of this cult classic with three opportunities to watch the movie on the big screen. Screenings are accompanied by a live performance and audience participation, and start on October 31st.

There are countless events across Canada where you can scare yourself silly, indulge on candy, and generally enjoy yourself this October. No matter how you choose to spend your Halloween, we hope you have fun and stay safe!
