Modu-Loc Named a Best Managed Company Again

March 8, 2018

Modu-Loc has requalified for the Canada’s Best Managed Companies program, having been named a Best Managed company for the fifth consecutive year. Modu-Loc first qualified for Best Managed status in 2013, and became a Gold Standard winner in 2017.

Our application for the award highlighted a continued commitment to innovation, including product improvements intended to address the needs of heavy construction firms and major infrastructure projects. Last year, we formally launched our redesigned fence on jersey barrier system, which has patents pending in the United States and Canada. Our concrete block ballast system is currently the only engineered temporary fence system in the country that is designed to resolve stability issues in windy conditions.

Modu-Loc’s ongoing focus on talent management and employee retention also formed a key component of our application. The introduction of new employee bonuses and incentives, expansion of extracurricular training and development programs, and formation of employee-led committees were just some of the ways we were able to demonstrate our commitment to our team members.

Ultimately, we must recognize that we could not have earned this prestigious award without the unwavering dedication and efforts of all of our employees at each of our depots across Canada. The Best Managed designation reflects the contributions of each and every Modu-Loc team member who lives and breathes our Core Values every day.

Once again, we thank all of our employees for their hard work, devotion, ingenuity and eagerness to go the extra mile. These qualities are not only recognized and appreciated by all of us at Modu-Loc, but also by our customers, partners, and the Deloitte judges who deemed us worthy of the Best Managed title!

About Canada’s Best Managed Companies
Canada’s Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $15 million. Every year since the launch of the program in 1993, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies have competed for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates their management skills and practices.

The awards are granted on four levels:

1. Canada’s Best Managed Companies new winner (one of the new winners selected each year);

2. Canada’s Best Managed Companies winner (award recipients that have re-applied and successfully retained their Best Managed designation for two additional years, subject to annual operational and financial review);

3. Gold Standard winner (After three consecutive years of maintaining their Best Managed status, these winners have demonstrated their commitment to the program and successfully retained their award for 4-6 consecutive years);

4. Platinum Club member (Winners that have maintained their Best Managed status for seven years or more). Program sponsors are Deloitte, CIBC, Canadian Business, Smith School of Business and MacKay CEO Forums.
